The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of Enock Mawarire (39), Khulekani Sibanda (34), and Ian Tizora (29) in connection with a robbery case that occurred in Belvedere, Harare, on 13th September 2025.
The suspects allegedly posed as genuine transport seekers who intended to hire a taxi from corner Mbuya Nehanda Road and Albion Street, Harare to Belvedere. They hired the complainant, who was driving a Toyota Sienta vehicle. Upon reaching the destination in Belvedere, the suspects who were armed with a pistol, attacked the complainant and stole his cellphone, cash and the motor vehicle.
The suspects were arrested at Makoni Shopping Centre while driving the stolen vehicle. The police recovered the vehicle, a small axe, an okapi knife and the stolen cellphone from the suspects.
In another case, on 13th September 2025, police arrested Daniel Ryan Pitseni in connection with a robbery case which occurred in Marlborough, Harare, on 13th May 2025. The suspect, along with his accomplice already in custody, allegedly robbed a complainant of a Nissan Caravan vehicle.
Meanwhile, on 13th September 2025, Police in Chegutu arrested a wanted person, Kudakwashe Hoko (32), who was being sought in connection with a robbery case which occurred at Damvuri Farm, Pickstone, Chegutu.
The police recovered the suspect’s getaway vehicle, which had gunshot holes on the front windscreen.
On 13th September 2025, police arrested five wanted persons, Admire Magwati (25), Ornard Mutsvungadi (19), Amos Magwati (18), Charles Sungairi, and Prince Magwati (30), who were being sought by the police in connection with a murder case in which they allegedly killed Leonard Gambagamba (27) at Mbizo 14 Tuckshops, Kwekwe.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police reiterates that there is no going back in the fight against crime in the country. The police will ensure that criminal syndicates are brought to justice and the law takes its course without fear or favour.
