Reference is made to the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s press statements released on 28th March 2025 and 02nd April 2025 regarding the fatal shooting of a police officer, Sergeant Abel Masava, in Sizinda, Bulawayo and the subsequent arrest of Albert Munangati (26), Clifford Desmond Nare (33) and Thabo Dube (24) in connection with the murder case.
The suspects are further being linked to other 25 armed robbery cases which occurred between 12th March 2024 and 28th March 2025 in and around Bulawayo.
In total, the suspects are clearing 50 armed robbery cases, including a case which occurred on 10th April 2024 at Fundisi Mine, Umuguza where USD2 704. 00 cash was stolen after the complainant had been attacked by the suspects who were armed with pistols, knives and wooden sticks, and another robbery case which occurred on 15th March 2025 at a fuel service station in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo where ZAR 186 000.00 was stolen.
