Black Mambas, ZRP Harare in police derby

ZIFA Northern Region Division One League title aspirants Black Mambas will be seeking to bounce back to winning ways in a “Police Derby” with ZRP Harare at Morris Depot this afternoon.

Black Mambas coach John “Toto” Ncube, who promised quick redemption after surrendering pole position on Wednesday, will be put to test once again by an inconsistent but unpredictable ZRP Harare side.

Ncube allayed fears that the defeat to Harare City might see his side slip further down the log.

“Make no mistake, we are going to bounce back. We are still very much in the title race. We are on the same points with Harare City and definitely we are going to bounce back. The defeat was just one of those results that you get when you really don’t come to the party as a team,” he said after the Harare City defeat.

Harare City, who rose to the top with the crucial victory on Wednesday, face a tricky assignment against inform Ngezi Platinum Stars U19 at Motor Action Sports Club tomorrow.

It will be a clash of the veterans and two of the most decorated coaches in the Ruyamuro Northern Region Soccer League at Rimuka stadium where Come Again play against Shamva Mine.

Come Again is under the guidance of Bigboy Mawiwi while Shamva Mine is under Arthur “Tuts” Tutani.

The other match will see Chegutu Pirates and Golden Eagles clash in probably the headline match of the weekend.

Mark Mathe’s Golden Eagles are hard pressed for a win to keep their title hopes alive after they needed a late strike to salvage a point in the 1-all draw against a 10 men ZRP Harare on Wednesday.

MWOS welcome Trojan Stars at Ngoni stadium in one of the matches to look forward to while PAM FC are at home against Karoi United at Muriel Mine stadium.
