{"id":8379,"date":"2025-09-19T15:04:55","date_gmt":"2025-09-19T15:04:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zrp.gov.zw\/?p=8379"},"modified":"2025-09-19T15:04:55","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T15:04:55","slug":"press-statement-18th-september-2025-arrest-conviction-and-sentencing-of-accused-persons-for-armed-robbery-murder-unlawful-entry-into-premises-and-theft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zrp.gov.zw\/?p=8379","title":{"rendered":"PRESS STATEMENT\u00a0: 18TH SEPTEMBER 2025 &#8211; ARREST, CONVICTION AND SENTENCING OF ACCUSED PERSONS FOR ARMED ROBBERY, MURDER, UNLAWFUL ENTRY INTO PREMISES AND THEFT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Zimbabwe Republic Police<\/strong> releases the names of accused persons who were recently convicted and sentenced for armed robbery, murder unlawful entry into premises and theft cases for the period ending <strong>16<sup>th<\/sup> September 2025<\/strong>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kundiso Mlambo (22),<\/strong> <strong>Noel Gandazha (32)<\/strong>, and <strong>Takudzwa Mazhambe (29)<\/strong> were convicted of armed robbery and sentenced to five years imprisonment on <strong>6<sup>th<\/sup> September 2025<\/strong> at the Harare Magistrate Court. The accused attacked the complainant before stealing a bag containing clothes and a cellphone on <strong>3<sup>rd<\/sup> July 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>John Chagwiza (36)<\/strong> was convicted of multiple counts of unlawful entry into premises and theft, where he would break into complainants&#8217; houses and steal various properties. He was sentenced to <strong>16<\/strong> years&#8217; imprisonment on <strong>6<sup>th<\/sup> September 2025<\/strong> at the Harare Magistrate Court.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Allan Moyo (35) <\/strong>was convicted of theft of a motor vehicle and impersonating a police officer. He was sentenced to <strong>20<\/strong> years imprisonment on <strong>6<sup>th<\/sup> September 2025<\/strong> at the Harare Magistrate Court. The accused person impersonated police officers, stole vehicles from four complainants and sold them to unsuspecting buyers during <strong>2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Garikai Zhelende (30)<\/strong> was convicted of armed robbery, as well as unlawful entry into premises and theft. He was sentenced to eight years imprisonment at the Harare Magistrate Court on <strong>8<sup>th<\/sup> September 2025<\/strong>. The accused targeted victims who used secluded paths and robbed them of cash, clothes, and other valuables. He also broke into a church and school, where he stole kitchen utensils, drums and roofing sheets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enock Mawarire (39)<\/strong> and <strong>Khulekani Sibanda (34)<\/strong> appeared before the Harare Magistrate Court on charges of carjacking, in which they robbed a complainant of a Nissan Caravan vehicle in Belvedere, Harare on <strong>13<sup>th<\/sup> September 2025<\/strong>. The duo was convicted and sentenced to <strong>12<\/strong> years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>On <strong>16<sup>th<\/sup> September 2025<\/strong>, <strong>Tapiwa Malasha (32)<\/strong> and <strong>Francis Zuze (41)<\/strong> appeared before the Harare Magistrate Court on charges of theft of a motor vehicle, in which they stole a Toyota Hiace vehicle at Zvipoto, Unit N shops, Chitungwiza on <strong>14<sup>th<\/sup> September 2025<\/strong>. The suspects were convicted and sentenced to seven years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Zimbabwe Republic Police<\/strong> applauds the public for supplying information that led to the arrest and subsequent conviction of the accused persons.
