{"id":8332,"date":"2025-07-23T10:29:34","date_gmt":"2025-07-23T10:29:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zrp.gov.zw\/?p=8332"},"modified":"2025-07-23T10:29:34","modified_gmt":"2025-07-23T10:29:34","slug":"press-statement-21st-july-2025-arrest-of-two-suspects-for-unlawful-possession-of-dagga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zrp.gov.zw\/?p=8332","title":{"rendered":"PRESS STATEMENT\u00a0:\u00a021ST JULY 2025 &#8211; ARREST OF TWO SUSPECTS FOR UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF DAGGA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The <strong>Zimbabwe Republic Police<\/strong> confirms the arrest of <strong>Benjaminm Mutezo (26)<\/strong> and <strong>Jealous Moyo (39)<\/strong> in connection with unlawful possession of 200 kilogrammes of dagga.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>On <strong>20<sup>th<\/sup> July 2025<\/strong>, Detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics received information that <strong>Benjamin Mutezo<\/strong> had hired <strong>Jelous Moyo<\/strong> to transport dagga from Forit area, Beitbridge Border Post to a house in Mbedzi using a Honda Fit vehicle, registration number <strong>AEY 1813.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The detectives acted on the received information and intercepted the Honda Fit vehicle, leading to the arrest of the suspects and recovery of 200 kilogrammes of dagga.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the dagga was in recovered in the vehicle while some was recovered hidden in a house at Yellow residential suburb, Mbedzi.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Zimbabwe Republic Police<\/strong> applauds the public for supplying positive information which led to the arrest of the suspects.
