The Zimbabwe Republic Police offers a wide a range of career opportunities. These careers are put into three main categories which are :-<\/dt>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n
    \n
  • General Duty<\/li>\n
  • Administration<\/li>\n
  • Technical<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    (a) General Duty<\/h4>\n

    This is the main policing front of the organisation. The responsibilities include, among other things:-<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Suppression of all forms of civil commotion in Zimbabwe<\/li>\n
    • Preservation of law and order<\/li>\n
    • Prevention of crime<\/li>\n
    • Detection of crime<\/li>\n
    • Apprehension of offenders<\/li>\n
    • Protection of life and property<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      These responsibilities are discharged with the utmost regard for Human Rights.<\/p>\n

      (b) Administration<\/h4>\n

      This category provides support functions to the General Duty police officers. The following are some of the sections, which make up this category: –<\/p>\n

      • Training<\/li>\n
      • Records management<\/li>\n
      • Press and Public Relations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        (c) Technical<\/h4>\n

        The Technical category comprises of the following sub-groups: –<\/p>\n

        (i) Construction<\/h4>\n

        • Bricklayers<\/li>\n
        • Electricians<\/li>\n
        • Plumbers<\/li>\n
        • Carpenters<\/li>\n
        • Draughtsmen<\/li>\n
        • Refrigeration Technicians<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          (ii)Transport Technicians<\/h4>\n
            \n
          • Mechanics<\/li>\n
          • Auto-Electricians<\/li>\n
          • Spray painters<\/li>\n
          • Panel Beaters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            (iii) Medical<\/h4>\n
              \n
            • Doctors<\/li>\n
            • Vet Doctors<\/li>\n
            • Nurses<\/li>\n
            • Radiologists<\/li>\n
            • Environmental Health Technicians<\/li>\n
            • Pathologists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              (iv) Teachers<\/h4>\n

              • Primary and Secondary School teachers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                (v) Information Communication Technology Technicians<\/h4>\n
